The European Bus System of the Future 2 (EBSF_2) project capitalizes on the results of the previous EBSF projectAs the former, EBSF_2 is aimed at developing a new generation of urban bus systems by means of new vehicle technologies and infrastructures in combination with operational best practices, and testing them in operating scenarios within several European bus networks.

UITP R&I Day: ZeEUS and other Bus Projects


UITP R&I Day: ZeEUS and other Bus Projects is one-day conference organised on 25 October in conjuction with the UITP International Bus Conference and the Busworld Europe, the biggest bus & coaches exhibition of the world.

The main results of ZeEUS, the most important EU funded project about electric bus systems, running since 2013, will be the core topic of the day. Additionally, a selection of key themes from the following UITP Bus R&I projects will be also presented:

• ELIPTIC: Multimodal use of charging infrastructure and the evolution of trolley-hybrid systems,
• EBSF_2: Innovation on bus design, energy management and maintenance strategies,
• JIVE : Fuel cell bus deployment actions,
• ASSURED: A look into the future of interoperable high-speed charging systems

San Sebastian and Madrid Demonstration Event on green driver assistance systems

The EBSF_2 San Sebastian and Madrid demonstration team cordially invites you to the demo event taking place in San Sebastian, Spain on Wednesday 29 November starting at 9:00am. The event takes place at the San Sebastián City Council located on Ijentea Street 1, 20003 San Sebastian, Spain and is hosted by CEIT.

Led by CEIT, the San Sebastian demonstration on Green Driver Assistance Systems is testing an eco-driving and anti-bunching system - EKOBUS - and a new HMI based on haptic and audio messages to the driver - NONVIS. While in Madrid, the demonstration team led by Tekia is developing a new indicator for diesel buses’ driving efficiency as well a new method to evaluate the driving style compliancy with fuel savings targets.

From 16-19 April 2018 Europes biggest Transport Research Conference, the Transport Research Arena, will take place in Vienna. Under the motto "a digital era for transport. solutions for society, economy and environment" about 3.000 international experts will discuss about the latest research results and future developments in mobility and transport.

The Transport Research Arena (TRA), initiated in 2006, takes place every two years in another European city. The TRA is supported by the European Commission, the European Technology Platforms ERTRAC (European Road Transport Research Advisory Council), ERRAC (European Rail Research Advisory Council), WATERBORNE as well as CEDR (Conference of European Directors of Roads) and ALICE (Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration).
